Oh hi. Again. Lovelies? Too weird? Probably. Anyways, I’m back with another post! Who would have guessed? Haha I have a bunch of looks painted that I want to share, so I’ll be double posting a bit this week. For example, this post! This month’s theme for The Nail Challenge Collaborative is winter, so I painted some coffee mug inspired nails. Let’s get to it!
Here is what I used:
Nothing beats drinking a cup of hot coffee on a super cold, winter day (especially when you can do it wearing pajamas in your bed versus a desk surrounded by computer monitors. Any guesses on figuring out who is not excited to have to put on tights and high heels tomorrow? That 5am alarm clock is looking pretty scary right now too haha.) Anyways! I came across this tutorial for decorating coffee mugs (from EnvatoTuts,) and fell in love with the polka dot patterned one.
- Start by applying three coats of Go Big Or Stay Home.
- Then apply liquid latex all around your nails
- Using the smoosh/Ziploc bag technique, add on Wanderlusting and Giada.
- Peel off the latex.
- Add the polka dots on using acrylic paint and a detail brush.
- Clean up.
- Finish with a coat of Glossy Glam.
I don’t know about you, but I’m absolutely in love with this look! Smoosh bases are one of my favorite techniques, but this might be the best one that I’ve ever done. The glitters in Wanderlusting play so well with the shimmer in Go Big Or Stay Home, I have no words haha. The geometric pattern doesn’t look exactly like the inspiration, but it still works well with the base polishes. Make sure to leave me a comment down below with your thoughts though!
Thank you guys so much for reading! Have a great night!
