I have a quick post for you guys today!
So, onto the nails!
Here’s what I used:
This month’s theme for The Nail Challenge Collaborative is typography! Which I’m like super excited for and also terrified of at the same time haha. I was the one who suggested this theme (or at least, I think I was,) but yeah, I totally get to be a graphic designer geek this month, and that always makes me happy! At the same time though, typography is also really hard to paint on your nails…..so this will be interesting haha…my apologies to everyone else in the group 😛
- Start with two coats of Wisp.
- Then using the detail brush and acrylic paint, add on the type.
- Go back in with the black paint and dot around the words.
- Clean up.
- Add a layer of Glossy Glam.
For being nervous about this theme, I’d say we’re off to a good start! I’m super stoked that I was able to pull these off, because I tried going about the art a little differently. Laying down the design in white first definitely helped with the dot placement, and I was glad that you can’t see the white paint once it was topcoated. This design was inspired by this piece, that unfortunately I don’t know who created /: Kind of a bummer because I’d love to look at more of their work….anyways! What do you guys think? Are you a fan of type?
