Hello lovelies! Gah, it’s been a few days since my last post. All of the craziness at work is starting to wrap up, but I’ll be spending the next two days on the road so blogging might have to be put on the back burner again. Anyways, I recently decided to join in on another challenge (yes, another one) to fill in the gaps from the 26 Great Nail Art Ideas Challenge. This one is called Nail Crazies Unite and was the brain child of CDBNails and Manicured & MarvelousIt looks like there are some fun themes planned out for the next year, but we’re starting off with coffee nails. So, let’s get to it!

Here’s what I used:

I’ve posted so many smoosh manicures over the past couple of weeks, it’s getting a little ridiculous haha. But it’s one of my favorite ways to create neat nail art bases, so I’m going to keep rolling with it! This time it worked perfectly, because the base looks exactly like when you add creamer to coffee (unless you’re me and drink your coffee black….but you get the point.) The floral design was inspired by this cup of coffee!

  1. Start by applying two coats of Make Mine A Grande.
  2. Clean up.
  3. Apply liquid latex around your nails.
  4. Then dab a little bit of the other brown polishes and smoosh them with a plastic baggie.
  5. Peel off the latex.
  6. Add a layer of Clouds In My Coffee.
  7. Paint the flowers on with acrylic paint and a detail brush.
  8. Clean up again if necessary.
  9. Finish with a layer of Glossy Glam.

So, what do you guys think? I love how the base turned out and how the turquoise glitters pop off the brown. But, I’m not overly crazy about the flowers (shocking right?!) I fell asleep without top coating these, and woke up with bed sheet marks which messed up the acrylic paint. But, overall I’m happy and think this was a great start to the challenge! Leave me a comment down below with your thoughts!
