Hello lovelies! Wow, it’s been a while since my last post. Sorry! I was having a bit of an off week last week, so blogging had to take a back seat. But, I’m working to get things back on track and I’m excited to get this week started with a gorgeous polish from Sweet & Sour Lacquer. So, let’s get to it!
Name: June 2017
Description: Blue/turquoise base filled with gold, holo glitter and a bunch of shimmery goodness.
Release Information: 2017 June Monthly Exclusive
Number of Coats: Three coats.
Topcoat: One coat of Tonic’s Topper.
Formula: Slightly sheer and jelly-like on the first coat, but it builds to opacity easily.
Dry Time: About ten to fifteen minutes for each layer.
Wear Time: I did have some chips after the first day, but I’m going to blame that on the fact that I had been packing and moving things while wearing this.
My thoughts: Wow, guys. I’m so stoked that I get to share this with you all, because I’m really, really, really liking this polish! Turquoise and blue are my favorite colors for polish, so I’m digging that this one is tiptoeing back and forth across that line. Plus, I love the contrast of the gold glitter against the cool base and shimmer. Even my mom kept commenting on how much she liked this. If you love turquoise-y, blue polishes, do not miss this one!
Now, it’s time for some nail art!
Is anyone else been super into black and white nail art lately? I don’t know what is up with me, but it’s all I want to paint at the moment. So, that’s what I did here haha! The squiggles were inspired by this work by Sarah Illenberger.
- Start by applying three coats of June 2017.
- Add a layer of Tonic Topper.
- Once that’s dry, paint the squiggles on with acrylic paint and a detail brush.
- Clean up.
- Finish with another coat of Tonic Topper.
