How was everyone’s weekend? I did end up working on blogging stuff for most of the weekend, but it just means that I have some fun stuff to show you guys this week. Like today’s post! I have six polishes from OPI’s Starlight Collection to share with you guys! This post will just be swatches and then I’ll have some nail art up later in the week. Also, because this is going to be picture heavy, I’ll *try* to keep the rambling to a minimum. Onto the nails!
*All swatches shown with one coat of Rica’s Glossy Glam unless noted otherwise.
First up is Love Is In My Cards! My photos are showing two coats of polish plus topcoat. This polish had a great formula to work with and unlike other red polishes in my collection, this built up to being opaque quickly. I do want to note that this polish will stain your cuticles and skin like most reds, but I didn’t wear it long enough to find out if it would stain nails. I would play if safe and wear base coat with this one.
I have a feeling a lot of people are probably rolling their eyes at another red polish from OPI, but this is actually the only one in my collection. This shade of red is really lovely and I’m super excited that it only requires two coats to get rid of all visible nail line. For not being a big red person, I was surprisingly really happy with this one!
I’m showing you guys one coat of Two Wrongs Don’t Make A Meteorite over two coats of OPI’s My Vampire Is Buff. This glitter topper has silver diamond, pink hex and chevron? shaped glitters in a clear base. There was a good ratio of glitters to base, and I didn’t find myself having to fish for the different shapes.
I’m not to sure how I feel about this one. On one hand (brownie points to me for puns :P,) I like that they tried something out of the box and the good glitter payoff is appreciated. But, the glitters are just shaped weird. If they actually looked like arrows/chevrons then this would have been really neat, but they just look like the scraps of glitter that were cut wrong. I need to wear this one a few more times before I can make up my mind about it haha!
Next is Let Your Love Shine!
This shimmery, red polish is gorgeous! The photos are showing two coats of polish plus topcoat, but you might be able to get away with one coat if you apply it carefully. This is another one that you want to pay attention and not get it on your skin and cuticles, because of staining.
I know another red, but this one is quite lovely! If you’re in the market for a deep, shimmery red polish, then this would be a great one to try out because the formula was easy to work with.
Next up is Comet Closer!
Comet Closer is a gold, metallic polish that dried down to a slightly textured, matte finish. I used two coats of polish without topcoat, so you guys can see the effect. This polish can be prone to brushstrokes if you aren’t careful while applying it.
So, am I the only one who thinks this polish leans a bit green? Or am I just crazy? It’s probably that second option, but I’ve accepted it haha. This color clashes with my skin tone, but I bet this would look lovely against either paler or darker skin……basically any skin color that isn’t mine! I do appreciate how quickly this dried though, I can definitely see myself throwing this on when I’m in a rush!
I forgot to take macro of this one….whoops!
Anywho, Super Star Status is up next!
Aww yeah, look at those sparkles! This glitter can be used as a topper or cam be built up to full opacity like my swatches here. I used three coats of polish to achieve this look with no topcoat. I can’t wait to show you guys what this one looks like with topcoat on it!
This is one of my favorites from the ones I tried! I’ve been really into micro glitters lately, and the mix of gold and silver makes this one unique in my collection. If you love full coverage glitters, then you should check this on out!
Last up is Give Me Space!
I obviously saved my favorite for last, because, well it’s blue and it’s glorious! This one has an almost jelly-like consistency, but I was still able to reach opacity with two coats.
Look at all the sparkles! Gah, I’m in love with this polish and I feel like it might become a crowd favorite too! The holo effect isn’t super prominent in this, but there’s so much glitter that it’s still beautiful.
And that’s a wrap for today! This collection has a little bit of everything in it from holos to cremes to glitter bombs, so I think a lot of people will be able to find at least one polish that they enjoy. I’d really love to know what polishes were your favorites, so please leave me a comment down below!
Thanks so much for reading guys! Make sure to check back later in the week for some nail art. Also, I want to say thank you to Preen.Me for the opportunity (:
