Good evening lovelies! It is quite late right now, and I am just getting the chance to sit down to write this blog post. Dang. I might be ready for bed, but that’s not going to stop me from sharing some nail art with you all! So, nail polish. A few weeks back, the Nail Crazies Unite posted some manicures using red and black polish and I finally am getting around to posting my flapper-inspired look (almost two weeks later…but it’s cool.) So, onto the nails!
Here is what I used:
Red nail polish is seriously so bizarre to me. I always convince myself that I like it, and I buy enough of it to justify them having their own drawer in my Helmer. But, the color weirds me out once I get it on my nails, especially when they have some length to them. That probably makes absolutely no sense, but I don’t know how to explain it haha. Anyone else get weirded out by certain colors? Or not? You can tell me I’m weird, it’s fine. Anyways, this design was inspired by this flapper dress from the 1920s!
- Start by applying two coats of Amal.
- Then add a layer of Red Light on top.
- Once the base is dry, use acrylic paint and a detail brush to add on the design. I found it easiest to paint the frame first and then fill in the other details.
- Clean up.
- Finish with a coat of Tonic Topper.
So, what do you guys think? This is definitely a look where I prefer the photos over actually wearing it. Don’t get me wrong, the polishes are gorgeous and I’m glad that I can show them off here on the blog. But, I don’t see myself wearing a ton of red nail polish anytime soon haha. But, leave me a comment down below with your thoughts! Are you a red polish lover?
Thank you guys so, so much for reading! I’ll have some more nails for you guys tomorrow (:
