Hello lovelies! What are your guys thoughts on mainstream polishes? I’ll be honest, I usually lean towards buying and wearing mostly indies. But, I was recently sent a bunch of polishes from Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri line and I thought it would be fun to do a whole series showing them off. Today, I’m featuring a beauty called Champagne Supernova, so let’s get to the polish!
Here is what I used:
Now, there really wasn’t any information in the box regarding what I was sent. So, I’m not sure if theses are new colors or re-releases but it does look to me like they updated the packaging on their Insta-Dri polishes. Which it looks really nice! Kudos Sally Hansen! They market these polishes as being “One Stroke & One Coat” polishes that take only a minute to dry, but unfortunately that was not the experience that I had with this one. It was very opaque and applied evenly, but I still needed two coats for full coverage and it definitely took longer than sixty seconds to dry. The color is really lovely though and will make a great base for nail art! It worked well for this Irene Demetri inspired look!
- Starting by applying two coats of Champagne Supernova.
- Once that’s dry, paint on the pattern with acrylic paint and a detail brush. I started with the background shapes and then added on the black dashes.
- Add on some smaller, black dots with the dotting tool.
- Clean up.
- Finish with a coat of Glitter Glaze.
So, what do you guys think of this little series? I don’t share a lot of mainstream focused nail art on the blog, so I thought it’d be fun to focus on it a little bit. Plus, I’m super happy with how this look turned out haha! But, I do have one question. Would you guys be interested in seeing swatches along with the nail art? I painted these nails without really thinking the post layout through, but I would be willing to do swatches for future ones! Let me know your opinion and what you think of this design down below!
Thank you guys so, so much for reading! I’ll see you later this week for some more fun!
