Hello lovelies! It’s been a little bit since my last post, and I’m so sorry about that. I wasn’t planning on taking on a break but between wrapping up the craziness at work, my birthday (I’m 23 now…ew,) and my mom coming to visit for the weekend there wasn’t any time to blog. Oh, and now I’m sick! I slept so much today, it’s almost gross haha. Anyways, it’s time for another Digit-al Dozen week and this month we’re tackling color contrast nails. I’m having some mixed feelings about this theme, but let’s get to it!
Here’s what I used:
Also, let’s not talk about my nubs…I haven’t had nails this short in so long and I’m actually upset about them. At first, I thought it might be refreshing to have short nails for a little while, but I don’t like how they look in photos. Boo! This post is turning so negative, whoops haha. Anyways, the inspiration for this look came from this set of fabrics from Elizabeth Hartman.
- Start by applying two coats of Fiery Calm.
- Then using a striping brush and white acrylic paint, add on the thin, horizontal lines.
- Once those are dry, use a dotting tool and Ginger (previously reviewed here) to add on the polka dots.
- Clean up.
- Finish with a layer of Glossy Glam.
And there we have it! Moving on from the annoying nail length, I liked this look! Turquoise and red isn’t something that I would normally think to put together, but the contrast between the two colors is lovely. Also, can we take a minute to appreciate that Emily de Molly polish?! It’s stunning! I’ve been wanting to try the brand for a while now and finally decided to place an order. I blame Nichole (Bedlam Beauty,) she’s an enabler. Be careful haha. Anyways, let me know what you guys think down below!
Thank you guys so much for reading! I hope you’re ready for a fun week full of posts (:
