This is the first post on the new website! Fun, right? I’m still trying to get used to WordPress, but I’m starting to understand it haha. How about we celebrate the new blog with a review? I have Parallax Polish’s SeCience Collection for you guys today. Erin created this collection to celebrate the education accomplishments at schools in the SEC conference.
This is going to be a picture heavy post, so let’s get to the nails!
*All swatches shown with one layer of Glossy Glam.
First up is SCEN! This magenta polish is filled with a bunch of different shaped white glitter. I’m showing you guys three coats, but I believe that you could get away with two.
As I mentioned above, SCEN is filled with a bunch of different shaped white glitter. Pretty much every shape of glitter that you can imagine. Unfortunately, I had a hard time getting the heavier glitters onto the brush. I recommend placing your bottle upside down before using it. Other than that, the polish was easy to apply.
Next up is Choppin!
Choppin is a purple polish that is filled with gold, holographic sparkles. My swatches show two coats of polish.
This polish was really easy to work with and I had no problems with the formula. When I first opened my mail from Erin, I thought this polish would be one of my favorites but I’ll save those for later in the post (; This polish has a slightly frosty finish which I think is why it wasn’t one of my top picks.
Next is Halbouty!
This polish is described as being, “a maroon polish with chrome shimmer.” I agree with the chrome shimmer but the color leans a little more berrylike. These photos show two coats plus topcoat.
This is a really pretty polish! It’s not something that I would normally reach for, but I can see this being a great base for nail art. This dried fairly quickly too.
Next up is Morgan!
Morgan is a bright, blue polish filled with chrome shimmer. These photos show three coats of polish, but I think you could get away with two if you’re more careful at applying your polish haha.
Now, this polish is gorgeous! I love this color and the sparkle in it is lovely. I can’t wait to use this one in some Summer-time nail art.
Next is McClung!
This polish is a bright, orange crelly with small, white, hex glitters in it. My swatches here are three coats of polish with topcoat.
This was a surprise favorite for me! I was just thinking the other day about how I never wear orange polish, but then I got to wear this and I think I’m in love. I wore this for three days? Which is basically a decade in nail blogger years.
Next is Bryant!
Bryant is a cobalt blue, jelly-like polish with orange shimmer. This is another insistence where I wore three coats, but I think you could get away with two.
If you’ve been following my blog adventures since the beginning, then you know that blue polish is my favorite. So, obviously, this polish is one of my favorites! I mean, look at that color! Amazing!
Last up is McAlester!
This polish is a black based polish that is jam packed with gold, holographic glitters. My swatches are two coats of polish with topcoat.
I saved the best for last! Do you see how beautiful this polish is? My only comment would be that I should have used a thicker topcoat or a second coat, because it was a little gritty. Other than that, this was another favorite!
Here are some macros:
This is the second time I’ve reviewed polishes for Parallax Polish, and I’m still really impressed with this brand! Erin’s inspiration are so unique in the polish community and the formulas of her polishes are great as well. SCEN was the only one that I had some problems with, but the polish was still wearable. These will be available for purchase in her store starting May 15th, so be on the lookout for these! Here are some links:
