Hello lovelies! How are you guys doing? I’m getting off to a bit of a slow start this week since I spent all day traveling, but hopefully some swatches of new Parallax Polish pretties will make up for it! Erin is back to making polish after a few months of down time. For those of you who are new to Parallax Polish, all of the collections are inspired by science and this time around it’s all about Stat-ick-tics (which is the greatest name ever!) Let’s get to the polish!

Name: Alpha

Description: Purply, red metallic with teal glitters.

Number of Coats: Two coats.

Topcoat: One coat of Rica’s Glossy Glam.

Formula: Applies sheer and streaky on the first coat, but it smooths out and builds up to opacity on the second. Be careful with your brush strokes.

Dry Time: Each layer dried in about five to ten minutes.

Staining: None.

Wear Time: N/A (only worn long enough to swatch.)

My thoughts: This was the polish that I was most excited for when I first got these polishes in the mail. Sadly, I think this fell a little flat on the nail but please remember that this is my personal opinion. There is nothing wrong with the formula and the polish applied easily and built up to opacity in two coats. But since there is so much glitter in it the finish looks a little bumpy (it only took one coat of topcoat to smooth it out though.) Not my cup of tea, but I bet I can make this work with some nail art!

Name: Beta

Description: Metallic, shimmery purple.

Number of Coats: Two coats.

Topcoat: None.

Formula: Applies easily, but the high amount of shimmer can lead to visible brushstrokes. This dried down slightly gritty.

Dry Time: Each layer dried in about five to ten minutes.

Staining: None.

Wear Time: N/A (only worn long enough to swatch.)

My thoughts: I’m usually not a fan of metallic polishes, but I like how this purple looks with my skin tone! The color doesn’t pull to red or blue, and the shimmer gives this a nice glow. I did find that it dried down a little oddly on some of my fingers, but these swatches are sans top coat to show off the satin finish. Top coat would definitely help mask the bumps if that’s something you think might bother you.

Name: Error In Your R

Description: Dark shimmery green (that I swear shifts to a dark blue in some lights.)

Number of Coats: Two coats.

Topcoat: One coat of Rica’s Glossy Glam.

Formula: Easy to control and could probably be a one coater if applied carefully.

Dry Time: Each layer dried in about five to ten minutes.

Staining: None.

Wear Time: N/A (only worn for a day)

My thoughts: When I first saw this polish in the bottle, I’ll admit that I wasn’t all that excited. But, I wore this to work for a day and this polish seriously has the coolest shift in the shade. It’s subtle but the edges turn a deep blue color, and I fell in love with this the minute I witnessed that shift happen. This polish is going to be amazing for Christmas nail art!

My thoughts: Erin described this polish as a matte, but the finish seems to be more satin like for me. Regardless, it’s a really pretty polish! I have polishes similar to this in my collection, but none of them have flecks as small as the ones used here. If you’re on the look out for a black polish with a little subtle “oomph,” I suggest checking this one out.

My thoughts: This is by far my favorite polish from this entire set! It’s not the most unique thing ever created, but I’m always on the look out for a good micro glitter and this one reaches full opacity in only two coats. How awesome is that?! Dear Erin, please make this in every color imaginable. THANK YOU!

So, what do you guys think? I always love Erin’s inspirations behind her collection, and I think this is another really interesting one. The polishes are going to be great going into the winter months and I’m excited to use these in some nail art! The Stat-ick-tics collection is live on her website now and appear to sell for $3 for a mini bottle or $6 for a medium size bottle. I’m not actually sure how much polish is in a medium bottle, but the ones I received to review are in her normal sized bottles which I believe are 9mL. Make sure to check out these links to keep up with Parallax Polish:

Now, I have a little unrelated rant that I need to throw in here. Today is Election Day in America, and this year’s race has probably been one of the craziest in a while. Please, please, PLEASE! If you are registered to vote, go do so! I don’t go into much detail when I talk about my job on here, but I do work in politics and have been working on some campaigns over the past couple of months. It has seriously been one of the most eye opening experiences, and while it has been exhausting, I’m super grateful to have been involved because I’ve learned so much. Most of my day will be spent on the road campaigning, but I plan on racing back home quickly to cast my vote. I hope you guys do the same<3
