I’m back today with another Blogger Takeover post for you all! I’m seriously so thankful at how many bloggers are interested in taking part in this feature, and that it’s continued on for this long. And I’m totally not just saying that because Thanksgiving is tomorrow….which holy crap, Thanksgiving is tomorrow. Where did the time go?! Gah, no more rambling though! Today I’m featuring the lovely Traci from Newsie Nail Novice, and she’s way better with words than I am so let’s get to her post!
Hey everyone, I’m Traci of Newsie Nail Novice. Marisa was kind enough to ask if I’d do a feature for her blog so here it goes! I just love Polish Those Nails, Marisa always has the best original art. What she can do with a paint brush, I definitely envy for sure.
Today I have a simple but fun nail art featuring the colors of fall!
To start this look, I created a gradient using three polishes: Smitten Polish Bengal Tiger (orange), Darling Diva Polish the Grand Rite (the brick red) and Pahlish Hundred Eyes (brown). Sorry I just realized that I think none of these polishes are actually available for purchase anymore, sorry about that!
One thing you’ll find at Newsie Nail Novice is I really like holo, which is why I paired all these lovely holos together to create this look. One tip I always give when doing gradients, always start with the lightest color (here that was Bengal Tiger) because the darker ones will be easier to gradient on top.
I didn’t want only gradient on my fingers, I wanted to incorporate gold. So I broke out Elevation Polish Zhenjin for my index and ring fingers and then did gradient dots, matching the gradient nails, over the gold holo going up the nail.
These colors really spoke to me as being great colors of fall. I know fall is almost all gone, but I’m not ready to let go yet. The leaves have just started falling here in California (we’re always a few weeks behind on the season changes!).
Anyway, that’s it from me. Thanks so much for having me Marisa! Hope you like the look!
Thank you for posting today Traci! These nails are gorgeous and so perfect for the season! I’ve put together some of her links for you guys, so go follow her:
