Hello lovelies! It’s a new month, which means that the Nail Challenge Collaborative has a new theme and for February we’re tackling “new beginnings!” Did you say mentally just go, “what.” Because that’s what I did (expect I made have said it out loud, because living on your own means that you can talk to yourself without anyone judging you. But I bet, you guys are all judging me now, so yeah!) I wish I could say that the rest of this post won’t be as weird as this introduction, but today’s nail art is inspired by a pair of gym shorts. So, there’s that. Let’s get to the polish!
Here is what I used:
This theme is definitely throwing me for a loop. But, I decided that I would dedicate my first manicure to my recent efforts of working out! I used to be fairly good about going to the gym and doing a ton of walking. But now that it’s winter, I’ve seriously been slacking off. The big difference this time around is that I try to get all of my working out done before work which meanswaking up at 5am, and yeah, rough is an understatement. Insomnia and waking up early don’t mix very well. But, I figured I’d do some nail art based off of my favorite gym shorts to pay homage to my attempts of being healthier.
- Start by applying three coats of Aspen.
- Then using the dry brush add on the other polishes. I started with the two oranges and made sure to keep all strokes running horizontally.
- Clean up.
- Finish with a coat of Tonic Topper.
And that’s a wrap! My nails aren’t as cool as my shorts (seen in the first photo.) But, I’m alright with how they turned out. Orange and blue is just not a color combination that I can get behind at all, so that definitely threw this manicure off for me. I want to know what you guys think though, so make sure to leave me a comment down below!
Thank you guys so, so much for reading! This is actually the only post that I have for you today, so check back tomorrow for more!
