It’s Monday….again….blah. Hopefully some more Model City Polish swatches will make your day a little more enjoyable! This post will wrap up my collection from this brand, so make sure to check parts one and two if you haven’t already. But for now, let’s get to the polish!
*All swatches shown with one coat of Glossy Glam.
First up in today’s post is Itty Bitty Bikini! This polish is a purple jelly that is filled with pink, purple, and blue glitters in various shapes. There are also holo micro glitters (my favorite 😛 ) My swatches are showing three coats plus topcoat.
This polish is so packed with glitter, its crazy! I usually don’t like jelly polishes but I’m a fan of this one, because all of the glitter helps it reach full opacity and I didn’t find this difficult to apply. I do suggest waiting a bit in between coats, so each layer can dry but other than that this polish is a win for me!
Next up is SB05 July 2015!
This polish is a blue based crelly that is filled with with blue, pink, and holo glitters! I did find the formula of this one to be a bit too thick for my liking, but it’s nothing that a little thinner can’t fix. These photos show three coats plus topcoat.
This is such an interesting polish! I had no idea that there were bar glitters in there until I had this on, luckily they’re the little ones so they didn’t stick up off the nail at all. I’m not entirely sure what the name of this polish means, but I’m going to take a guess that this was a small batch, limited edition polish because it doesn’t seem to be available in her store anymore. I’m happy to have this in my collection!
Last up for swatches is Cosmic Lovers!
Gah, guys, do you see this polish?! This beauty is a bright blue holo that is filled with small, gold, holo glitters! My swatches show two coats plus topcoat.
This polish seriously was the whole reason that I decided to try out this brand! The color of this is just gorgeous, and I love the little added bits of gold. This is another polish that has already made my list of top polishes of 2016<3
Now let’s look at some nail art!
I kind of had a hard time coming up with something for this polish. There was already so much going on with all of the glitter, but I wanted to see if I could kind of recreate this Esther Stocker’s installation in the South London Gallery.
- Start with three coats of Itty Bitty Bikini.
- Add a layer of Glossy Glam.
- Paint the design on using acrylic paint and a detail brush.
- Clean up.
- Apply another layer of topcoat.
Next up is some art done with SB05 July 2015!
This one was kind of tough to come up with something for too, because of the different colors and glitter shapes happening in the polish. This pattern that I believe is by Dulce Martirio caught my eye, so I used that as my inspiration.
- Start with three coats of SB05 July 2015.
- Add a layer of topcoat.
- Paint the dots on with acrylic paint and a detail brush.
- Clean up.
- Finish with another layer of Glossy Glam.
Last up is some Cosmic Lovers nail art!
This polish on its own already reminds me of the night sky, so that plus it having the word “cosmic” in the name meant that I had to do some starry night nail art! These star illustrations from Designs by Miss Mandee were my inspiration.
- Start with two coats of Cosmic Lovers.
- Apply a layer of Glossy Glam.
- Using a detail brush and acrylic paint, add on the stars.
- Clean up.
- Add more topcoat.
Here are some bottle macros:
I mentioned earlier that SB05 July 2015 isn’t available in her shop anymore, but you might be able to find a bottle in a destash or blog sale. The other two polishes are still being sold in her Etsy shop though. Itty Bitty Bikini retails for $9 and Cosmic Lovers costs $11 a bottle. I’m kind of sad that I don’t have anymore polishes to show you guys from this brand, because I’m really liking this brand at that moment. I haven’t been buying much polish lately, but I can definitely see myself making an exception for this brand. Make sure to check the following links to stay up-to-date:
Thanks for reading guys!
