Happy Wednesday!! Maybe? Is that weird? It sounds better than happy Monday…..plus it’s Blogger Takeover time, so Wednesdays > Mondays! I’m so excited about this post, because Deborah from Love Varnish is posting today! I’m always so envious of her nails, because her nail art and swatches are literally always perfect….like no joke, freaking perfect, I don’t know how she does it! TEACH ME YOUR WAYS!…..I’m also very over-tired and this is getting weird, so I’ll let you guys get to the nails!
Hi loves! My name is Deborah and I am one of the bloggers from Love Varnish, I’m so excited to be here today and share my nails with you all for today’s Blogger Takeover series! I’ve been following Marisa’s blog for quite some time now and I am always in awe of her quirky designs and the way she works magic with acrylic paint. One of my goals is to try and recreate one of her looks some day!
For today I am focusing on a nail art technique I know very well: double stamping! Lots of times I’ll be staring at a plate and immediately my attention is drawn to those patterns that can be repeated on the nail. Luckily I received another perfect plate the other day from Hēhē, it’s plate 081 from the Plaids & Florals collection. On this plate are both waterspotting designs as well as Rorschach images (at least that’s what they remind me of) and that’s what I used for this particular look. My base is 2 easy and smooth coats of Kiko 372 Nude, and the stamping was done with both Essie Penny Talk and Cirque Colors Memento Mori. I’ve been thinning that second shade a bit and so the opacity is a bit comprised which is why the gold shines a bit through the surface in some pictures. In real life it wasn’t noticeable at all!
I really love how the gold added some depth while the black contrasted starkly with the nude base, and the creamy finish of the Kiko color is just perfection! Overall, I really enjoyed wearing these nails and actually did so for 3 days, which is a record for me I think :-D! Marisa, thanks so much for inviting me and I hope you love these nails as much as I do ♥.
Gah, Deborah! These are stunning!! Everything about them is perfect and the execution is flawless, I’m so jealous of your stamping skills! Thanks so much for sharing these<3 If you’re interested in seeing more of her work, visit any of the links below:
