Hello lovelies!

Happy Monday guys! Possibly? I don’t know, I’m only working four days this week so I’m oddly excited for it haha. Anyways, before I left on my blogging break I started showing you guys my Love, Angeline stash and I’m back today with two more polishes. Unfortunately, neither of these are available since they were part of the Pipe down this Love is Bliss box, but let’s get to the swatches!

Name: Sand Castles

Description: Neutral holo polish packed with some darker flakies.

Number of Coats: Three coats.

Topcoat: One coat of Rica’s Glossy Glam.

Formula: Applies smoothly, but don’t try to over manipulate it too much or you can cause bald spots.

Dry Time: Individual layers were dry to the touch within a couple of minutes.

Staining: None.

Wear Time: n/a (only worn long enough to swatch.)

This is probably my most used Love, Angeline polish! Not only is the color a great representation of the inspiration, I love using it as a base for nail art because of the soft sparkle it gives to every design. This polish was originally released in the 2014 June Pipe down this Love is Bliss box. Which I didn’t realize how old this really is haha, it applies like a brand new polish!

Name: Hello Dah-ling

Description: A glitter topper filled with pink, yellow, silver, black, and white glitters of various shapes.

Number of Coats: One coat (Over two coats of OPI’s My Vampire Is Buff.)

Topcoat: One coat of Rica’s Glossy Glam.

Formula: The glitters have a tendency to bunch together, but the overall payoff is good. The only down side is that it bubbles.

Dry Time: Still dentable after fifteen minutes.

Staining: None.

Wear Time: n/a (only worn long enough to swatch.)

I have to admit that I only bought this polish because of the name (high five to all of you guys here from the Hey, Darling Polish! days 😛 ) But I really like the colors and different glitter shapes in this one! This one does have a tendency to bubble, but it could be because this polish is from 2014 (more specifically the 2014 May Pipe down this Love is Bliss box.) Honestly, they don’t really bother me so I can over look them. I need to start pulling this one out more often!

Now, it’s time for some nail art!

sand castles, turtles, nail art, shimmer, neutral, love angeline, polish those nails, indie polish

Like I stated earlier, I love using this nail polish as a base for nail art and this time around I wanted to paint a bright design to contrast against the soft color. This turtle phone case  from Coverlads was the perfect inspiration!

  1. Start by applying three coats of Sand Castles.
  2. Apply a layer of Glossy Glam.
  3. Once that’s dry, us a detail brush and acrylic paint to add on the turtles.
  4. Clean up.
  5. Finish with another layer of top coat.

Last up is a design done using Hello Dah-ling!

Unlike Sand Castles where I knew exactly what I wanted to paint for the nail art, I had a harder time coming up with an idea for Hello Dah-ling. Luckily, this pattern by Ophelia Pang worked out well!

  1. Start with two coats of My Vampire Is Buff.
  2. Apply a layer of Hello Dah-ling.
  3. Add a layer of Glossy Glam to smooth the glitter.
  4. Then use a detail brush and acrylic paint to add on the pattern.
  5. Clean up.
  6. Finish with another layer of Glossy Glam.

Like I mentioned earlier, both of these polishes were exclusives in Pipe down this Love is Bliss boxes so they aren’t available for purchase at the moment. But you could always look at blog/destash sales for these (that’s actually how I got my bottle of Hello Dah-ling.) To find out what Love, Angeline is up to now, check out any of the following links:
