Oh hi…again…for the third time tonight. I promise you guys that this is the last post for the night. I’m just so close to being on my normal blogging schedule again, and only have a few more back posts to share. Hopefully after this week, I’ll be back on track with all of my challenges. In the meantime though, thanks for sticking around through all of these posts! Three different nail art looks a day can’t possibly be the worst thing to ever happen, right? Anyways, nails. Two weeks ago, everyone participating in the Nail Polish Society‘s ABC Challenge tackled the letter “X” inspired nails. So, let me share my x-ray inspired nail art with you all!
Here is what I used:
This may have been the toughest letter to come up with an idea for. So difficult that I actually almost skipped it, mainly because I forgot that the letter “X” even exists. Yes, I am an adult. Yes, I know my ABCs. But seriously, I completely blanked on this letter and almost missed it. Luckily, I caught it just in time and came up with these x-ray inspired nails! The geometric pattern was inspired by this fabric designed by Kelly Wearstler.
- Start by applying three (?) coats of Breath Of Zephyros.
- Once that’s dry, paint on some random dripping cloud shapes with black acrylic paint and a detail brush.
- Layer over that black paint with Queen Of The Night (previously reviewed here.)
- Then go back in with teal and white acrylic paint and a detail brush to add on the pattern.
- Clean up.
- Finish with a coat of Glossy Glam.
This nail art definitely doesn’t look like a real x-ray, but I’m really happy with how these turned out. Again, Femme Fatale is killing me with the stunning polishes and I love how this one contrasts against Queen Of The Night. The teal design adds a nice pop of color as well. Make sure to let me know what you think down below in the comments!
Thank you guys for being amazing and putting up with me<3
