Good morning and happy Tuesday lovelies! Is it bad that we’re only two days into the week, and I’m already planning out my weekend? The weather is supposed to be pretty lovely, so I’m hoping to go for a hike! And that actually ended up working as the perfect segway into today’s nail art, because you know what you need to go hiking? A map. Which is exactly what I have on my nails! But, can you guess what book inspired this map? Keep reading to find out!
Here is what I used:
Could you guys figure out what book inspired these nails? Hopefully, because I totally gave away the name of it in the title of this post but you know. Whoops. Moving on! I came across this book cover designed by Adam Busby, and I knew that I needed it on my nails! I’ve never actually read The Hobbit, but I’m in love with this design.
- Start by applying two coats of Wanderlust.
- Then using the dry brush technique, add on a little bit of Dino DNA.
- Once that’s dry, use acrylic paint and a striping brush to add on the grid.
- Go back in with a detail brush to add the mountain details.
- Clean up.
- Finish with a coat of Ultra Suede Matte Top Coat.
And that’s a wrap! I’m really happy with how these turned out, and I seriously wish that this was still on my nails now. Wanderlust was the perfect base for this look, since the little flakies almost mimic the distressed feel of the book cover. Not to mention that the color is stunning! I also have a weird, soft spot for grid nail art, so this was right up my alley haha. But, make sure to leave me a comment down below with your thoughts!
Thank you guys so, so much for reading! Make sure to check back later for some more nail art!
