Good morning lovelies! How is everyone’s week going so far? I’m feeling pretty tired already, but that doesn’t mean that the blog butt kicking is coming to a stop anytime soon! Also, if you’re confused (which most likely you are,) check out this post from Sunday to figure out what the heck I’m talking about 😛 One of these days I’ll learn to quit the rambling, but today is not that day! Anyways, the theme for this week’s Twinsie Tuesday post is artwork, so I put together a grey-ed out, abstract look with a twist. Let’s get to it!
Here is what I used:
Abstract artwork isn’t really something you see too much on this blog. But, it seems that every time I encounter an “inspired by artwork” challenge prompt, I fall back on abstract designs. Sometimes it’s nice to take a step back from the overly, detail-oriented nail art though and attempt a look outside of my comfort zone. This Storm At Sea painting by Tracie Cheng was the inspiration for this nail art!
- Start by applying three coats of Winter’s Shimmer.
- Then using a ripped piece of makeup sponge add on I Have A Herring Problem and January 2017.
- Once the base is dry, use acrylic paint and a detail brush to add on the gold line work.
- Clean up.
- Finish with a coat of Glossy Glam.
I know that I don’t wear grey nail polish enough, so this was a nice opportunity to pull out some newer polishes and test them out. The base shade did make my skin tone look a bit off, but I’m loving all of the shimmer in it so I can look past the odd coloring. I would never think to pair grey and gold together either, but it’s actually a really nice color combination. I want to hear what you guys think though. So, make sure to leave me a comment down below with your thoughts!
Thank you guys so, so much for reading! Make sure to check back later for some more nail art!
