Happy Friday guys!
Who else is super pumped for the weekend? I have some plans to go exploring with some friends, but other than that I think I’ll be spending a bunch of time prepping for the upcoming 31 Day Challenge! Did you guys see that Chalkboard Nails made new graphics and posted her FAQ the other day? I’m hoping to take part in the whole thing again this year, but we’re coming up on a busy time with work so we’ll see.
Anywho, let’s get to today’s post!
Here’s what I used:
This week’s theme for the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas Challenge is inspiration. Which now thinking back on it, that probably means to like find a nail blogger/design and be inspired by them/it. But yeah, I didn’t do that. Instead, I decided to pay homage to something that inspires me and that is music! I’m pretty much always listening to music and have a hard time doing anything without it at least playing in the background. I won’t get into my favorite bands or lyrics and what they mean to me, but I will say that my “Don’t lose your fight, kid.” (from the song Missing You by All Time Low,) is by far my favorite/most meaningful tattoo that I have (so far…sorry, mom.)
- Start with two coats of Wisp.
- Then using a detail brush and acrylic paint, add on the black pattern.
- Once that’s dry, paint on the music notes with white acrylic paint.
- Layer 06/16 over the white notes.
- Clean up.
- Finish with a layer of Wax That…
For this look, I was inspired by this drawing created by ZenspireDesigns on Etsy. I ended up adding in my own music notes and a pop of color, but I’m super stoked with how these turned out! It’s been a while since I’ve done “doodle” nails and I’ve missed them haha. But let me know what you guys think! Also, what inspires you?
Thanks for reading guys!
