Hello lovelies and happy Monday! Maybe? This week marks the beginning of a ten week “reset” that I’m doing at the gym I go to, and like, I already miss junk food. Meh. Unfortunately, even vegan junk food isn’t healthy for you…so, yeah. It’s going to be an interesting couple of weeks. BUT! At least this week is a super exciting Digit-al Dozen week! I haven’t participated in a DD week in a couple of months, so I’m happy to be back. Also, we recently welcomed a bunch of new members! So, make sure to say hello to Tiffany (Polish and Paws,) Kim (Kimett Kolor,) Oksana (The Polished Koi,) Brethil (Druid Nails,) Courtney (Polished Lifting,) Michelle (Lacquer or Leave Her) and Kirsty (Fairytale Nails!) And this got really rambl-y, so let’s get to the glitter!

Here is what I used:

This glitter theme has seriously thrown me for such a loop. At first, I was super excited about it, then I hated it, then I liked it again and now that all my manicures are done, I’m just like what the heck happened haha! Luckily, I was able to find a bunch of inspiration in the fashion world like this purse by Luna On The Moon.

  1. Start by applying two coats of Sia.
  2. Add a layer of Ivy.
  3. Followed with a coat of Fairy Dust.
  4. Once that’s dry, lay down the base of the nail art with acrylic paint and a detail brush.
  5. Go back over the cloud with Kristi.
  6. Cover the lightning bolts with Wanderlusting.
  7. Outline the cloud again with black paint.
  8. Clean up.
  9. Finish with a coat of Glitter Glaze.

I had high hopes for this design, but unfortunately I’m not super thrilled with it. My nail art skills are still a bit rusty from my hiatus, so this isn’t as clean as I would have liked. I am super in love with how the base turned out though, because the shifty flakes in Ivy are stunning over the bright blue. Anyways, make sure to leave me a comment down below with your thoughts because I’d love to know what you think!
