Happy Wednesday guys!
I have a fun post for you all, so I’m going to keep my chattering to a minimum.
Onto the nails!
Here’s what I used:
Last month, Amanda from Lady Maid Nails suggested that we start celebrating our Digit-al Dozen members’ birthdays! So for each month the birthday girl (or girls) gets to pick a photo and the rest of us create a manicure inspired by it and post on a certain day. I had to sit out last month, but this time both Amanda (from Lady Maid Nails) and Tamara (from Canadian Nail Fanatic) have birthdays in August and this is the photo they decided on!
- Start with two coats of your base polish (Demetria on three fingers and Charisma on the pinky.)
- Then using acrylic paint and a detail brush, paint on the design. I started by painting the blue rays on first, followed by the black type outline, then the yellow letters, and finally topping that with the orange polka dots.
- Clean up.
- Finish with a layer of Glossy Glam.
At first, I was super nervous about attempting this nail art because freehanding typography is really hard, but I’m actually pretty happy with the outcome! Looking at these now, I wish I had added some polka dots in the background to add a little more detail but there’s always next time. What do you guys think of these?
