Oh hi guys! I’m back again with another post, because it’s time for day two of the Challenge Your Nail Art Halloween challenge! I’m usually not one to go out all out with Halloween manicures, so I’m trying really hard this year to stay on top of these themes. Today’s manicure is almost a little stereotypical for the holiday, but keep reading to see some owls!
Here is what I used:
See what I mean about stereotypical? Orange and black is literally everywhere once October hits, but I had to do at least one manicure with this combination. The inspiration for this design came from this print that I believe is from Fat Quarter Shop.
- Start by applying two coats of Amy.
- Then add a layer of The Fires Of Gallifrey.
- Once that’s dry, add on the owl design with acrylic paint and a detail brush. I found it easiest to start with the shape of the owl and then place the branches.
- Clean up.
- Finish with a coat of Glossy Glam.
My owls turned out a little goofy looking, but I’m okay with the outcome of these. This isn’t a look that I would rock myself, but I bet there’s someone out there who is into nail art like this. I will say that I’m happy with how the base came out, because I’ve been really into experimenting with different layering combinations for my nail art bases. It’s always nice when they work out nicely like this one. It’s fun finding different ways to incorporate polishes that I don’t normally reach for into new looks. Anyways, what do you guys think? Are you guys a fan of traditional Halloween nail art, or do you like out of the box designs? Let me know below!
Thank you guys so much for reading! Make sure to visit all of the other people participating to see more owl designs!
