Hello lovelies! How was everyone’s Monday? I have a feeling that it is probably going to be a stressful week. Between finishing out this challenge and work things, I’m already ready for a nap haha. Anywho, I have my “inspired by a song” nails to share with you guys today! So, onto the polish!
Here is what I used:
This year I chose the song True Contrite by Knuckle Puck! More specifically the lyric, “We dream in color, but see in black and white.” I’ve been on a serious pop punk kick lately, and this band is one that has been on repeat for a while now. If you’ve never heard of them, definitely go give their album Copacetic a listen! I thought by picking a pattern and painting it in two different color schemes would work for the lyric.
- Start with two coats of Wisp.
- Then using a larger detail brush, paint on the cloud shapes with February.
- Once the polish is dry, go in with a smaller detail brush and acrylic paint to add on the spirals.
- Clean up.
- Finish with a layer of Glossy Glam.
Do the nails makes sense with the song lyric? Also, are any of you guys out there pop punk fans? It’s by far one of my favorite music genres, but it doesn’t translate so well into nail art haha. Regardless, I liked how this look turned out. I’m not super in love with it, but it’s passable. Next time, I’d probably add more color into the dream portions so it looks even more whimsical. But, what do you guys think? Leave me a comment down below with your thoughts!
