Gah, don’t mind me sneaking in one more late night post. I’m so close to being caught up with the challenge and I can freaking taste it guys! And that was a little dramatic again, but you know what I mean. Hopefully. Anywho! This post has my book inspired nail art, so onto the polish!
Here is what I used:
Graphic design book covers are one of my favorite sources of nail art inspiration. This time around I was inspired by the cover of Burn Your Portfolio: Stuff They Don’t Teach You In Design School, But Should written by Michael Janda. It features a lovely yellow that is covered with plenty of little doodles, which are actually done throughout the pages as well.
- Start by applying three coats of Siena (previously reviewed here.)
- Then add on a thin layer of This Is It!
- Once that’s dry, paint on the black design using acrylic paint and a detail brush.
- Clean up.
- Finish with a layer of Glossy Glam.
Here is a bonus shot, so you can see the nails and their inspiration.
When I first finished these nails, I wasn’t thrilled with the outcome. But, looking at these photos now I have to say that I’m happy! The line work is a little sloppy (especially the typography,) but my favorite nail art brush is on its way out. I did a poor job of taking care of it, so that’s on me. But! I order a replacement plus a new one that I’m looking forward to trying out! Do you guys have a favorite nail art brush? Let me know down below what it is and I’ll make sure to check it out the next time I’m in the market for some brushes. Also, let me know what you think of this look!
I know I keep repeating the same ending over and over and over again. But seriously, thank you guys so much for putting up with all of this last minute posting<3 No one has complained (at least to me) about posting so much and I really appreciate it, guys.
