Hi guys! Day thirteen of the Thirty-One Challenge calls for some animal print nails, and honestly this might be my least favorite theme of them all. I’ve never been a huge fan of leopard, cheetah, or even zebra nail art, so I always struggle trying to come up with an idea for today. This time around, I attempted some rainforest frog nails! Which yeah, weird, right? Let’s see how I did!
Here is what I used:
Can you guess what specific frog I was inspired by? Maybe…I don’t know anyone who can actually tell the different kinds of frogs apart from one another. But, there’s bound to be someone out there, right? Anywho! These nails take inspiration from the red, strawberry poison dart frog! This photo to be exact!
- Start by applying three coats of 06/16.
- Then using a sponge, dab on a little bit of Red Light, Pull Over, Skylar and Codie (try to concrete the blue and brown colors to smaller areas and closer to the sides.)
- Let that dry for a little bit, then use acrylic paint and a detail brush to add on the frog spots.
- Clean up.
- Finish with a layer of Glossy Glam.
Red nails aren’t something I usually gravitate towards, but I’m really liking these! 06/16 has been sitting on my desk, staring me down for what feels like forever. Yeah, I’ve had a massive group of polish that’s been sitting on my desk for months and I really need to put it away…but yep. Hashtag lazy. Anyways, the design of these turned out way better than I thought they would! The spots are really neat shapes, and I’m glad that I embraced the sparkle for the base. But, I’d love to hear what you guys think. Leave me a comment with your thoughts!
Thanks so much for reading guys, and don’t forget to check below for more animal nails! I do have some more posts geared up for today, so make sure to stop back here later today too (:
