Guess whose late with another challenge post? Haha….me. Meh. This week has been hectic with work and some other commitments, so I’ve been having to put those things before blogging. I’ve also been trying to make some improvements to the backend of the blog recently. Mostly stuff related to SEO and optimizing photos (which takes a while when you have almost ten thousand images on your site…whoops!) But! I plan on getting caught up again today, so here are my metallic nails for day eight!
Here’s what I used:
For my metallic look, I decided to pull out a polish that everyone was obsessed with when it was released back in 2014. Who remembers Push And Shove? There was probably an entire month where you couldn’t read any nail blog or visit any Facebook nail group without seeing this polish mentioned somewhere. I was definitely one of those suckers who bought into the hype, and while I don’t regret it (I mean, who could ever regret buying nail polish?) but I easily could have lived without this one.
- Start with one coat of Lay Down That Base (not pictured.)
- Apply two coats of Push And Shove.
- Then using a longer detail brush and acrylic paint, add on the design.
- Clean up.
These design of these nails was inspired by this wallpaper from Monument Interiors. I didn’t even consider trying to use Push And Shove for the line work, because it doesn’t even lay flatly on my nails. Which may or may not have been because of my peel-off base coat. But, anyways, I reversed the colors. Regardless of my disdain for this metallic, this ended up being a pretty cool look! Let me know what you guys think!
Thanks for reading guys! Make sure to check back later for my rainbow nails!
