polish those nails, blogger takeover

Hello lovelies!

Friday! Woo! That means it’s time for a Blogger Takeover post! I’m so sorry that I’m getting this up late, Róisín. Blah. Anywho, today’s blogger is Róisín from Cuti-CLUE-les! I love all of the book themed nail designs that she posts! I’m using so many exclamation points today…..whoops….anywho, onto the nails!

Hey all

My name is Róisín (aka Cuti-CLUE-les) and I’m a blogger based in Ireland. I was delighted when Marisa asked me if I wanted to feature on her blog. I love nail art so anytime I get to change my manicure and do something new I’m all over it! I was thinking about what I could do for this post when I realised I hadn’t used my textured polishes for a while. I actually really like this finish but they are fairly hard to come across in Ireland so I only have a few in my stash.

I started off with the Sally Hansen Velvet texture polish in Velour. This is a gorgeous purple polish that is opaque in 2 coats. It’s one of my favourites polishes as it looks great on its own and with a glossy topcoat.  Once this was fully dry I striped off the nail with some striping tape leaving a small section in the middle untouched. I added 3 coats of Barry m textured effect in Station Road on the lower section and 2 coats of Ridley Road to the tips. I didn’t add any kind of topcoat so the textured effect wasn’t washed out.

Thanks for reading and thanks to Marisa for asking to take part in this feature. Let me know what ye think of textured polishes, I know it divided a lot of people when it first appeared. I think it’s one of the more long-lasting nail trends we’ve seen for a while (compared to the crackle and spotted polishes at least!)
