Hello lovelies!
Late post tonight, so I’ll keep this introduction short. Besides, you guys are here to read a Blogger Takeover post and not my rambles! You’re in for a good one too, because Rose from Manicured and Marvelous is taking over today! Rose’s nails always look incredible and I’m so happy that she agreed to take part. So, onto the nails!
——

Hiya guys! It’s Rose from Manicured and Marvelous and I’m here to take over. Someone queue the techno music! I’m super excited to be here today and want to thank Marisa so much for having me. I have been a fan of her freehand nail art and blog for a long time, so it’s a honor to be here. Unfortunately I am terrible at freehand so I thought I would share a little something different… more of an experiment since this is actually my first time trying this technique. Foil nails!

Of course in classic Rose style, I didn’t have everything I needed in order to give this mani a try. In this case, I didn’t have one of the main items… foil glue. No worries though, I am the queen of making it work and manage to nail the look. Pun intended, haha.

Now here’s a break down of everything else I used to create this mani. Don’t be like me though and if possible get yourself the foil glue because it does make things easier in the long run.

  • Base:  Sally Hansen White On
  • Foil from my local craft store
  • Rhinestones & Ring from Lady Queen (Press Samples)
  • Top Coat: Seche Vite

While your nail base is slightly tacky, put the foil over your nail and press down using a cuticle pusher. The one I am using has a rough texture that you’ll need in order to rub the foil onto your nail. I actually purchase these in bulk from Walgreens for a dollar a pack, here’s a link to it!

And there you have it guys! It’s pretty simple technique and I’m definitely curious how much simpler it would of been if I actually had the glue. Though I am happy to have discovered an alternative method to achieving the same results. But what do you guys think?

Once again thank you so much Marisa for having me here today! I hope you’ve all enjoyed this look. I’ve very lonely so be sure to stalk me over at ManicuredandMarvelous.com and all over social media!

So, I really hate to make this post sad, but this will probably be the last Blogger Takeover post for a while /: I’d love this series to continue, but I’m finding less time to focus on the blog with my new job and I haven’t had time to schedule anymore bloggers for now. I’m not saying it’s going away for good, but it’ll be taking a break for now. If you do know of anyone that you think might be interested in doing a post, please tell them to get in connect with me at guestposts@polishthosenails.com or in my contact form so this can continue on! Thanks guys<3

Hello lovelies!
Happy Wednesday!! Maybe? Is that weird? It sounds better than happy Monday…..plus it’s Blogger Takeover time, so Wednesdays > Mondays! I’m so excited about this post, because Deborah from Love Varnish is posting today! I’m always so envious of her nails, because her nail art and swatches are literally always perfect….like no joke, freaking perfect, I don’t know how she does it! TEACH ME YOUR WAYS!…..I’m also very over-tired and this is getting weird, so I’ll let you guys get to the nails!

Hi loves! My name is Deborah and I am one of the bloggers from Love Varnish, I’m so excited to be here today and share my nails with you all for today’s Blogger Takeover series! I’ve been following Marisa’s blog for quite some time now and I am always in awe of her quirky designs and the way she works magic with acrylic paint. One of my goals is to try and recreate one of her looks some day!

For today I am focusing on a nail art technique I know very well: double stamping! Lots of times I’ll be staring at a plate and immediately my attention is drawn to those patterns that can be repeated on the nail. Luckily I received another perfect plate the other day from Hēhē, it’s plate 081 from the Plaids & Florals collection. On this plate are both waterspotting designs as well as Rorschach images (at least that’s what they remind me of) and that’s what I used for this particular look. My base is 2 easy and smooth coats of Kiko 372 Nude, and the stamping was done with both Essie Penny Talk and Cirque Colors Memento Mori. I’ve been thinning that second shade a bit and so the opacity is a bit comprised which is why the gold shines a bit through the surface in some pictures. In real life it wasn’t noticeable at all!

I really love how the gold added some depth while the black contrasted starkly with the nude base, and the creamy finish of the Kiko color is just perfection! Overall, I really enjoyed wearing these nails and actually did so for 3 days, which is a record for me I think :-D! Marisa, thanks so much for inviting me and I hope you love these nails as much as I do ♥.

Hello hello! I’m so excited to be able to share my nails with you today for Marisa’s Blogger Takeover series. 🙂 I’m Katherine from ProcrastiNails and when Marisa reached out to see if I would be interested I knew I couldn’t (and wouldn’t!) say no. Today I’m sharing a post that’s pretty exciting for me… My first fully successful water marble! Hooray!

black-gold-watermarble-full

I started off with a base of OPI 50 Years of Style (which is my second-favourite gold of all time) and then filled a plastic shot glass (so I can just throw it out after) with lukewarm water and used a fine point dotting tool to make a marble with 50 Years of Style, Sinful Colors Black on Black, and Revlon Super-Powered. The whole thing is sealed with a coat of Seche Vite which really highlighted the shimmer.

I adore how the pink flakies in Super-Powered show up in the close-up!

I’m so pumped I finally got a water marble to work, and as soon as I finish typing I’m actually going to head back to my nail area to see if I can do it again (to make sure it wasn’t a one-time thing, which would make me very sad!). This post is the result of 3 years of attempts, so I’m proud to be able to share it with you today. 🙂

Have a great day! Thanks for checking me out, and thanks Marisa for letting me share on your blog! xx

Hello lovelies!

I mentioned earlier to check back for a Blogger Takeover post, and here it is! I’m super stoked about this post, because Lisa from Cosmetic Sanctuary is posting today! I’m always in awe of her swatches and photos, so I feel honored that she wanted to partake in my little feature series 😀 Enough of my rambles though, go enjoy the nails!

Hey everyone! Very excited and honored to have been invited to participate in a Blogger Takeover here at Polish Those Nails! I’ve always loved Marisa’s nail art, so I decided to do a nail art look (which I rarely do nail art) for this post.

I’m not as talented when it comes to nail art as Marisa is, and I certainly can’t freehand anything, so I grabbed my nail vinyls and cosmetic sponges for this one. I did a Mermaid Scale Gradient design, and took some step by step photos for you.

Base

Start off with a nice white base on your nails. I picked Nicole by OPI Yoga-Then-Yogurt because I wanted a white that wasn’t too blinding, but still looked like a clean base.

Latex

I covered the cuticle and skin surrounding my nail with a liquid latex barrier so that when I’m done I can just peel is up and then possibly clean up some edges. I used Glisten & Glow CTRL-ALT-DEL as my liquid latex.

Nail Vinyls

Then I grabbed my nail vinyls I bought from What’s Up Nails! I usually lift the vinyl off the sheet and then use a piece of wax paper to press the vinyl into and lift again in order to remove all the small scale cutout pieces.

Vinyls On

Once I’ve removed all the scales I need to remove, I place the vinyl over the nail.

Sponge

I’m doing a gradient over the vinyl, so I got my latex free cosmetic wedge and Zoya Jace, Cecilia & Talia! You can do this with a wide assortment of shades, but I decided on green to blue. Then I sponge the colors over the white base and nail vinyl.

Done

Here is the final look after removing the latex. Not perfect – but not bad for me. Just need a little cleanup around the cuticle.

Final

Thank you again Marisa for having me on your blog today for Blogger Takeover! Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Hello lovelies!

Do you know what time of the week it is? I’ll give you a hint. It’s Wednesday! Figure it out yet? If not, I guess I can just tell you…..but yeah, it’s Blogger Takeover time! It took a little break last week, but it’s back and today Kerry from Painted Fingertips will be taking over! I always find Kerry’s nail art to be really unique, so I’m super excited that she agreed to do a post today. Let’s get to it!

——

Hi everyone!

I am so excited to be posting on Polish Those Nails – Marisa’s nails always look amazing so it’s great to be here! I hope you’ll like what I have to share with you today.

freehand-nails-green-purple

Two gorgeous dusty polishes are what make this nail art special: I used Sinful Colors Lavander and Tip Top Hap-pea as my base colours and made a gradient of them on my thumb and middle finger. I love shades like these and I’ve been reaching for them a lot lately!

freehand-over-gradient

I added a few dots of Rimmel Aurora on my pinkie and index fingers and did some swirly, abstract floral freehand using black acrylic paint on my other nails.

I really like how this purple and green look together! What do you think?

Gah, these nails are so pretty! I really love the swirly pattern and the little touch of sparkle. Thank you so much for posting today Kerry! Make sure to check out the following links for more of her work:
