Happy Sunday lovelies! How has your day been treating you so far? I had all these plans to get a bunch of blogging stuff done, but now it’s almost 6pm and I have no idea what happened to the day. This is why it’s never a good idea for me to skip my morning coffee haha. Meh. Anyways, this week for the 30 Days of Colour Challenge the group is posting our calm manicures. Kind of a weird prompt, but I’m happy with what I came up with so let’s get to it!
Here is what I used:
My way of achieving a calm look was to reach for muted colors with a subtle flash of something special. Luckily, I had just received my most recent order from Great Lakes Lacquer and Rainbow! Right Here and Now! was the perfect polish to use! Aren’t those flakies beautiful? It’s funny to think that I used to be anti-flakies, because now I love them. My favorite is when they’re mixed into a creme base, but make sure to let me know what your favorite flakie polish is down below.
- Start by applying three coats of Rainbow! Right Here And Now!
- Then using the fluffy brush, dab on a little bit of Wild Wisteria mixed with acetone.
- Once the base is dry, use acrylic paint and a detail brush to add on the stripes.
- Clean up.
- Finish with a coat of Tonic Topper.
So, what do you guys think? Do you feel calmer after looking at these nails haha? Regardless, I thought these were a great work appropriate manicure! We have a dress code at work, but luckily there are no rules on nail polish. If there was though, this is definitely a look that I would recreate over and over again. The squiggles contrast really nicely against the sharper shaped flakies, which I find really interesting. But, make sure to let me know what you think!
Thank you guys so, so much for reading!! You guys are the best<3
