Happy hump day! Maybe? Is that still a thing? Anywho, blogger takeover! I’m super excited about today’s post, because I’m featuring Jessica from Be Happy And Buy Polish! Jessica is probably one of my favorite people in the nail polish community (I don’t think I’ve ever told her that before though….,) because of how involved she is! She’s the creator of the Challenge Your Nail Art group and also admins in a couple of Facebook groups that I’m in. Her swatches and nail art are always gorgeous and she’s a total sweetheart<3 I’m going to stop talking now and let you guys get to her post (:
Hey there everyone! I’m Jessica and I blog over at Be Happy And Buy Polish. I’m excited to be here at Polish Those Nails for Blogger Takeover. 🙂 Marisa always does such a great job with patterns in her manis, and though I’d love to try to emulate that – I won’t because the results would probably be horrid.
But today I’m going to show you these nails! Somedays I just start out with a few polishes and a general vague idea and see what forms on my nails. 🙂 Doing a skittlette manicure is one of my favorite ways to do a mani!
I started off with 2 coats of OPI Alpine Snow on my thumb and pinky nail. (We’ll come back to these digits.) On my pointer finger, I’ve used 2 coats of Darling Diva Polish The Alchemist, then mixed The Alchemist with OPI Black Onyx for darker stripes.
On my middle finger, I used 2 coats of OPI Solitaire paired with 4 black studs. This is usually a textured polish, but to make those studs stay down really well, I used one coat of top coat.
On my ring finger, I used 3 thin coats of Darling Diva Polish Forced Family Fun. I wish I had sunshine on the days I wore this manicure so I could show you how pretty this is in the sunshine, but alas, it was not to be. This a slightly gritty polish, so I used 2 coats of top coat.
So over OPI Alpine Snow, I used water slide decals that I purchased from KBShimmer. These are super easy to use, and they look so fancy. Funny story, I asked my husband to cut out 2 large flower decals and 2 small flower decals (because my nails were wet, lol) and he didn’t hear me correctly and cut out small love decals. I actually like it better this way!
Now, do you guys see what I was talking about in the beginning of the post? Beautiful! Thank you so much Jess for posting today! I know it’s kind of crunch time with the holidays coming up, so I really appreciate it (:
