Good morning lovelies and happy Monday! Maybe? I have a good feeling about this week. I’m absolutely exhausted right now and this work week is going to be rough, but I don’t know. I’m just feeling optimistic haha. Being ahead on blogging stuff is definitely helping lift my spirits, plus it’s time for a Digit-al Dozen week! This month we are taking on art, so let’s get to it!
Here is what I used:
I’m super excited about this week, because I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone a bit. Which means that I’m doing a series of abstract art inspired nail art. A lot of my usual nail art relies on clean lines and shapes, so stepping away from that has been pretty fun! My first design was inspired by this painting, After Sunset, by Maitreyii.
- Start by applying two coats of Genesis.
- Then using the distressed brush technique add on the other polishes. I layered them in the following order: Red Red Wine, Carey, Revlon Red, Sun Worshiper, Black Matte and then a little bit of Genesis down the middle.
- Clean up (I recommend applying liquid latex around your nails, because the red and black can stain your cuticles.)
- Finish with a coat of Glossy Glam.
Pretty neat, right? The distressed brush technique is such a great way to achieve awesome nail art when you are short on time. I struggled a bit with getting the layering of the colors just right, but I’m liking how these turned out! This nail art would look awesome in a bunch of different color combinations, and I’ll definitely be recreating this again in the future. But, make sure to let me know what you think down in the comments below!
Thank you guys so, so much for reading! Don’t forget to visit the other ladies down below, and check back later for some more nails (:
