So, yeah, you totally read that post title right…..Back. To. School…..this review is WAY overdue and I feel like an asshole about it…mehhhhh! I seriously feel like the worst blogger. I’ve been having such bad luck with this collection, and I need to move these off my desk so I can stop feeling bad. My first package that I was sent was stolen off of my doorstep, but the SinfulColors PR team was kind enough to put together a small set for me to share on the blog. I’ve had these sitting on my desk since the beginning of September, but with a lot of stuff happening with the blog, family, and work, I never was able to work up the motivation to swatch them until now. It’s not that I dislike swatching but I get bored easily and lose focus, so I much prefer doing nail art. At the end of the day though, I received the polishes as press samples so I’m going to stick to my end of the deal by doing the review even if it probably doesn’t matter at this point. But enough feeling sorry, let’s get to the polish!
*All swatches shown with one coat of Rica’s Glossy Glam unless noted otherwise.
First up is Pink Break, which SinfulColors describes as a “demi-matte, peachy-pink.” I’m showing you guys two coats with topcoat.
This polish is supposed to dry down to a semi-matte finish, but unfortunately it was still really shiny after it dried. I added a layer of topcoat because I was a little sloppy with my application and the polish didn’t self-level too well. I’m going to disagree with the “peachy” part of the description, but the color is actually really nice….and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t like pink! The formula of this felt a little thicker compared to the others.
Next up is Daredevil!
This one is described as, “A pop of neon pink!” Again, my swatches are two coats plus topcoat.
Well, this one I totally agree with the description that was provided but was a little disappointed by the actual color. If you look at this polish in the bottle, it has an almost coral tone to it (or maybe I’m just crazy….which is definitely a possibly…) But I was really hoping for this to be more like how it looks in the bottle. This shade is alright, but I feel like I have a few dupes for it in my collection and coming from a girl who only owns like ten pink polishes, it’s not terribly unique. But I guess if you don’t have this color in your collection, this would be a great option because it is cheap and the formula is nice!
Next us A Burst Of Fresh Flair!
Again, this one’s description is accurate, but my photos are showing this a little brighter than it really is. I have mixed feelings about this polish. The shade of yellow is really lovely, even if it gives me lobster hands, but it’s really sheer and the pearl finish leaves brushstrokes if you aren’t careful while applying. This probably isn’t one that I would wear on its own, but it makes a great base for nail art (which you’ll be seeing tomorrow :P)
This lovely is called Glass Pink and is said to be a, “Sheer and shiny pink shimmer.” My swatches are showing three (or four?) coats.
Yeah, I know, a pink polish that Marisa actually really likes. WHAT. That never happens! There’s just something about this one though. The color is so soft and the shimmer is really delicate and wait until you see the nail art that I did with it. 😛 This is a sheer polish, but the formula wasn’t hard to work with and it the opacity built up nicely.
I’m not really sure why I thought I’d be able to reach full opacity with this polish, but I got pretty close! A fourth coat may have covered more of my stained nail, but this was so sparkly in real life that you couldn’t even tell that you that there were gaps. You could use one coat of this over another color for a little pop of sparkle. This one is really fun!
Last up is Blue Sensation! This one is described as a, “Lustrous silvery sky blue.” This polish does dry down to a matte finish, so I skipped the topcoat for these swatches.
This is one of the ones I swatched a while back, but if I remember correctly, this could potentially be a one coater if you’re careful. My swatches are showing two coats, because I’m never careful and there were some brushstrokes. This is a really nice color, and the silver shimmer is beautiful! Wait till you see if with topcoat tomorrow ;P
Now, the press release that I have for these polishes says that these were only available in August and September (so sorryyyyyyy 😩,) but I did some internet sleuthing and found a few of these for sale online. If you see something here that you like try checking Amazon, Ebay, or destash sales! Make sure to check back tomorrow for nail art done with these! Hopefully those looks will help us all over look the fact that these swatches are almost three months late 😳
