Oh hey!

Look who’s back….me! I have a random Indie Showoff post to share with you guys! I try to keep these posts for the weekends, but earlier this month I went like super crazy over planning things for the blog and I have my Indie Showoff posts planned out for the next three or four months. Sooo….mainly, I’m too lazy to go through and fix my calendar, so yeah, extra posts! I’ll be back on track after this one 😀 But enough of that, let’s get to some Noodle Nail Polish!

*All swatches shown with one coat of Rica’s Glossy Glam.

First up is You’re A Green One! This light green polish is filled with darker green glitters that come in a variety of shapes. I found this polish very easy to work with and was able to build up to this opacity in three coats.

This is a great polish for any green lovers you might have in your life! I have a hit or miss relationship with green polish, and it kind of just depends on my mood at the moment, so I’m not totally feeling this polish right now. But who knows, I bet a few weeks from now I’ll be all for green and will definitely be pulling this one out!

Oh man, ignore that horribly color balanced macro…..anywho! Next up is Snow Coat, Snow Boots, Snow Problems!

This polish is more of a teal leaning green polish filled with silver and blue glitters! The listing for this says that the snowflakes are silver, but they look gold to me…..so, not a big deal, but I just thought I’d point it out. I was able to reach this opacity in three coats.

I know I just said above that I’m a bit iffy about green polish, but I really love this one! Just look at how squishy the base is! I did place this one upside down for a little bit before using it, but I didn’t have to fish for any of the glitter you see here. Snowflakes on three out of four nails with minimal effort? Heck yeah!

Now it’s time for some nail art!

This first look was inspired by a coffee mug that I got while visiting Disney World this past summer! I think these look fun and bright like I was hoping (:

Last up is the look done with Snow Coat, Snow Boots, Snow Problems!

I honestly have no idea where this look came from…..I wanted to play up the silver glitters in the base and this is what I ended up with! 😛

  1. Start with three coats of Snow Coat, Snow Boots, Snow Problems.
  2. Add a layer of Glossy Glam.
  3. Use a fan brush to add on the silver acrylic paint.
  4. Then using the same brush, dip it into acetone and go back to erase parts of the paint.
  5. Clean up.
  6. Finish with another layer of Glossy Glam.

Here’s what I used:

We’re still rocking purple nails for The Nail Challenge Collaborative this month, and I’m loving it! This design was inspired by the pattern in the upper left hand corner by Corynn Chan.

  1. Start with two coats of Cardigan Sweater.
  2. Apply a layer of Fairy Godmother (previously reviewed here.)
  3. Add on the paint dabs with the detail brush. Make sure to apply more dots closer to your cuticle and decrease the amount as you move down your nail.
  4. Apply a small amount of My Voice Is A Little Norse over the dots.
  5. Clean up.
  6. Finish with a layer of Glossy Glam.

You know, I really wasn’t sure about this look while I was wearing it, but I’m really loving the way these photos turned out! The holo sparkle from Fairy Godmother is crazy haha. What do you guys think? Too sparkly or just right? 😛

Hello lovelies!

I mentioned earlier to check back for a Blogger Takeover post, and here it is! I’m super stoked about this post, because Lisa from Cosmetic Sanctuary is posting today! I’m always in awe of her swatches and photos, so I feel honored that she wanted to partake in my little feature series 😀 Enough of my rambles though, go enjoy the nails!

Hey everyone! Very excited and honored to have been invited to participate in a Blogger Takeover here at Polish Those Nails! I’ve always loved Marisa’s nail art, so I decided to do a nail art look (which I rarely do nail art) for this post.

I’m not as talented when it comes to nail art as Marisa is, and I certainly can’t freehand anything, so I grabbed my nail vinyls and cosmetic sponges for this one. I did a Mermaid Scale Gradient design, and took some step by step photos for you.

Base

Start off with a nice white base on your nails. I picked Nicole by OPI Yoga-Then-Yogurt because I wanted a white that wasn’t too blinding, but still looked like a clean base.

Latex

I covered the cuticle and skin surrounding my nail with a liquid latex barrier so that when I’m done I can just peel is up and then possibly clean up some edges. I used Glisten & Glow CTRL-ALT-DEL as my liquid latex.

Nail Vinyls

Then I grabbed my nail vinyls I bought from What’s Up Nails! I usually lift the vinyl off the sheet and then use a piece of wax paper to press the vinyl into and lift again in order to remove all the small scale cutout pieces.

Vinyls On

Once I’ve removed all the scales I need to remove, I place the vinyl over the nail.

Sponge

I’m doing a gradient over the vinyl, so I got my latex free cosmetic wedge and Zoya Jace, Cecilia & Talia! You can do this with a wide assortment of shades, but I decided on green to blue. Then I sponge the colors over the white base and nail vinyl.

Done

Here is the final look after removing the latex. Not perfect – but not bad for me. Just need a little cleanup around the cuticle.

Final

Thank you again Marisa for having me on your blog today for Blogger Takeover! Hope you all have a wonderful day!
