Hi guys!

It’s time for another Blogger Takeover post! Today’s takeover is kind of special, because it’s the first time that I’m featuring a blogger and an indie polish maker. Alison from ALIQUID not only blogs about her lovely swatches and nail art, but she also makes some really beautiful polishes as well! I know I’ve had my eye on quite a few of her creations. But that’s enough blabbing. Onto the nails!

Hi everyone! I’m Alison from ALIQUID and ALIQUID Lacquer. I was so honored and excited when Marisa asked me to do a guest post for you!

Today I have some Ancient-Greece-inspired nail art. I was a classics major in college, so I’m kind of obsessed with collecting stamping plates with Roman and Greek patterns! This time I got to try out a new acquisition, MoYou London Explorer 18. I’m also using a stamping polish I just got, Bundle Monster Noir Black.

I started by randomly sponging on some colors that reminded me of Greek pottery: Essie Sand Tropez, Sephora by OPI Leotard Optional, L’Oreal L’Orange, OPI The “It” Color, and Julep Otte. I added Out the Door, and then stamped four different images from the plate. (Please ignore the crooked stamps!) Finally I mattified everything with Revlon Matte Top Coat.

I love the final product–it looks like pottery someone just dug out of the ground! I was also really pleased by how well the Bundle Monster polish stamped!

See you around everybody!

Hello lovelies!

Can you guys believe that there’s only a week left of the challenge?! Gah! I only have one more design done for the challenge, so yeah, this is going to be rough….

Let’s get to today’s nails though!

Flowers!! ? Oh no, I finally figured out how to put heart eye emojis in my posts. I swear I will try not to let all of my posts just become a bunch of emojis, but no guarantees ?????

  1. Start with three coats of My Vampire Is Buff.
  2. Then using a dotting tool and Nyssa, add on the dots.
  3. The roses were done by placing a blob of Nana on my nail and then swirling in Faye and Ana.
  4. When those are done, I painted the leaves on with the acrylic paint.
  5. Clean up.
  6. Finish with a layer of Glossy Glam.

These nails were inspired by this skirt from White Plum! My nails aren’t spot on for the inspiration, but I really like how these turned out! Roses are always a win, and I’ve never painted them like this before so it was nice to try something new. Yay for wins!

Hello lovelies!

Quick post tonight, because you know, it’s late….whoops…

Onto the nails!

Here’s what I used:

Seventeen. Polishes. Do you see that? I rarely use nail polish for my nail art, so for this look, I used ALL the nail polish ? These nails were inspired by my Color Index 2 book! The book is filled with a ton of different color combinations that can be used for inspiration.

  1. Start with two coats of Wisp.
  2. Then using a striping brush (not pictured,) paint stripes of liquid latex on on each nail.
  3. Fill in the stripes with the polishes and a detail brush (not pictured.)
  4. Peel off the latex.
  5. Clean up.
  6. Add a layer of Glossy Glam.

Definitely not my best look….meh, it probably would have been easier to just paint the stripes on over the base but I thought I’d try something different with the latex. Regardless, these look really neat! I swear I’ve seen someone do nails like these before though, if you know who, let me know.
